Guest blog: Revitalise providing support on carers community

30 June

Guest blog from Revitalise, a charity that provides respite holidays for disabled people and carers. Revitalise are providing advise to carers within the Care Community Forum.

Hello from us all here at Revitalise. As some of you may already know, we’re now part of the Care Community forum. Here’s a little more about our work as an organisation and why being there to support unpaid carers like you is so very important to us.

For over 50 years we have been providing respite holidays for disabled people and carers and underpinning all we do is one simple, immutable belief – everybody needs a break. Each of our three accessible centres in Chigwell in Essex, Southampton and Southport combine expert care, with imaginative excursions, entertainment and activities, all with the aim of giving our guests something truly unique – a break that feels like a proper holiday.

As an organisation we’re dedicated to doing all we can to be there for those we support. Through our breaks relationships come alive, and those who come to us are no longer ‘carer’ and ‘cared for’, but husband and wife, father and daughter, mother and son once more.

For us it’s not just about doing what we can while our guests are with us, but being there when they aren’t too. That’s why, when the opportunity came for us to join the Care Community forum it was the perfect chance for us to provide even greater support to carers like yourself when you need it.

In the time that we’ve been on the forum, many of you have been so open to sharing your thoughts and experiences with us and it’s incredibly valuable and rewarding to interact with you all and be part of such a fantastic community. If you haven’t yet come over to the forum to join in the conversation, why not give it a go? There’s plenty of opportunity to interact with other carers and we’re always there to support you when you need us. Simply click here to see the forum.

We look forward to continuing the conversation with you over on the forum!

All the best, the Revitalise Team.
